Richard Parker Memorial Award

The Richard Parker Memorial Award is presented to a fellow member of the Federation family who has demonstrated exceptional commitment and dedication to the organized blind movement in Nebraska. The Award is named in honor of Richard Parker who was the President of our State Affiliate. His efforts in the blindness movement in Nebraska directly resulted in drastic changes in the mid 1970's to the State Agency for the Blind from the top down. Richard Parker also served as the Director of Nebraska's Radio Talking Book program from it's inception in 1974 until his death in 1982. The Richard Parker Award is the highest honor that our Affiliate can bestowed on a individual.
